Milwaukee Riverkeeper is a science-based advocacy organization working to protect and restore the Milwaukee, Menomonee, and Kinnickinnic Rivers. Through community engagement, policy work, and hands-on conservation, they champion swimmable, fishable, drinkable water for all. As both a watchdog and a community convener, they mobilize volunteers, engage decision-makers, and lead the charge for cleaner rivers in Southeast Wisconsin.

Creating a Modern Digital Platform to Support Advocacy and Fundraising

Milwaukee Riverkeeper came to Ocreative ready to transform its digital presence. Their existing website struggled to communicate what the organization actually did, and how people could get involved. At the same time, they were transitioning away from outdated platforms, including complex Salesforce forms, and restructuring their internal systems for donations, email, and CRM integration. They needed a site that was easier to manage, more inviting to supporters, and fully aligned with their evolving external communications.

We began by working closely with their team to untangle the organization’s internal and external pain points, from platform limitations to storytelling inconsistencies.
