Expanding Access to Early Childhood Mental Health Consultation Statewide
After helping secure funding and building a brand identity for Healthy Minds Healthy Children (HMHC), Ocreative was once again called on, this time to bring their vision to life online.
As a statewide early childhood mental health consultation initiative, HMHC needed a website that could educate diverse audiences, streamline referrals, and showcase the growing breadth of their consultant network. It had to feel warm, clear, and credible, equally welcoming to families, educators, case workers, and policymakers. And it had to leave room for growth.

Designing an Accessible, User-First Website for Diverse Audiences
We started with a user-first strategy rooted in accessibility, equity, and trust. Knowing that users might land on the site with varying levels of familiarity, technical comfort, or emotional readiness, we made simplicity and clarity a top priority.
Working alongside the HMHC team, we created a site structure that allowed visitors to:
- Understand what consultation is and who it’s for
- Learn about the benefits of partnering with a consultant
- Explore consultant roles, regions, and real-world outcomes
- Get started with referrals or connect directly with program contacts
Our visual design built on the branding we developed previously, infusing the site with intentional color, calming flow, and an inviting tone that echoes the human-centered spirit of HMHC’s work.
A Professional Yet Welcoming Digital Home for HMHC’s Growing Network
The final website balances professionalism with warmth, offering:
- A digestible, story-forward overview of mental health consultation
- A detailed explanation of services, from eligibility to success stories
- A growing directory of regional consultants, organized by service area
- Clear calls to action that guide users from interest to connection
Each element was designed to demystify consultation and empower site visitors to take the next step, whether they’re a parent, teacher, or pediatric provider.

THE RESULTS
Since launch, HMHC has expanded its consultant team and continues to grow its service areas and sector partnerships. The website has become a trusted entry point for referrals, outreach, and cross-system collaboration, and a powerful platform for the future expansion of mental health consultation across pediatric settings in Wisconsin.
