Smartfolio Video
The Client
Ken Cook Co is a Milwaukee-based technical communications company and a single-source provider of quality print, training, and creative services. They pioneered Smartfolio software, a document management system with an accompanying phone application. Smartfolio provides content management and collaboration for business through secure file sharing and document syncing for direct access online and off.
The Request
The Ken Cook Co. team reached out to Ocreative to create a new and exciting video to promote the advantages of using their Smartfolio software to manage and share files effectively with marketing, sales, and service team members.
The Strategy
Ocreative executed all stages of development from conceptualization to completion of this animated video. During the storyboarding phase of this project, we decided the promotional video would best relate our message by following the daily challenges of a person trying to keep files updated and consistent across all branches of an organization while different groups were making changes.
Ocreative hand-drew the story’s characters, digitized them, and then meticulously animated them over custom illustrated backgrounds. We wrote the script, recorded it, and overlaid it with an upbeat tune to add the finishing touches that put this educational video over the top.
The Outcome
The final video utilizes unique illustrations, a fresh story line, and precise animation to effectively explain the tremendous value of Smartfolio software while building excitement for the brand.
Ocreative received two awards for this animated short including a Silver Award of Excellence from the Communicator Awards and a Silvery Davey Award. With over 6,000 entries received from across the United States and around the world, the Communicator Awards is the largest and most competitive awards program honoring creative excellence. The Davey Awards is judged and overseen by the Academy of Interactive and Visual Arts (AIVA), a 700+ member organization of leading professionals from various disciplines of the visual arts dedicated to embracing progress and the evolving nature of traditional and interactive media.
