The Client

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Conejo Valley is dedicated to providing safe spaces for the children in the Conejo Valley and Los Virgenes communities of California to develop and grow as people, as citizens, and as leaders. Their mission is to enhance the lives of young people and their families by providing a positive environment that cultivates academic success, healthy lifestyles, good character, and citizenship. No child is ever turned away due to their inability to pay because they believe every child has the right to a brighter future. In fact, they’ve awarded $661,826.21 in scholarships in 2018 alone, which helped to support 875 members from low-income families.

The Request

We work with the team at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Conejo Valley quite frequently to help in their marketing efforts. From website updates to program guides to flyers and posters, we feel like their team is a part of the Ocreative family and we work to provide the very best to support their mission. An important aspect of their marketing is delivering recognizable, impactful print and digital pieces that draw the attention of kids and families alike, to drive membership and community support.

An important aspect of our marketing plan is working together to create cost-effective marketing solutions that make space for future use while maintaining continuity in brand representation. Our goal is to create reusable and long-lasting pieces that take full advantage of their branding and messaging, while offering space to add, update, or remove information without threatening the integrity or functionality of the piece.

The Strategy

In order to help create a cost-effective marketing strategy, our design team developed a series of editable pdf flyers for their staff to use at each of the Clubs, event posters designed to incorporate new information for each event, social media graphics, and a series of web page templates to help in building their web presence. Our digital marketing team also helped the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Conejo valley apply for, receive, and utilize Google Ad grants for nonprofits to help bring attention to their events, programs, and fundraising

The Outcome

After redesigning and relaunching their website in 2018 and leveraging Google Grants for nonprofits, their website users increased by 27.15 percent within a year. Their website sessions also increased over 21 percent! In fact, our search ad efforts, print initiatives, and social media graphics help to drive tens of thousands of unique site visitors to their website every year, helping the Clubs reach over 12 thousand members and families annually.

Club leaders can also easily update and send branded flyers home to parents and families, sharing important Club information effectively and efficiently, cutting administration time and allowing them to spend more time on programming and with the kids. Permanent, but editable event posters help Club leadership recognize youth at events like Superstars of the Year with exciting and polished displays that help emphasize how special their members are while saving money for the event itself.
